Reflective Narrative:
1. In these classes I was able to learn new kanji, grammar and vocabulary. Also we learned the history of Japan, which help me to better understand about the language itself. In addition, this class was taught in Japanese, which I had opportunity to think in Japanese.
2. I learned a specific aspects of Japanese language such as syntax, morphology, semantics, which came from the linguistics class (JAPN 401). We learned these by examining the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as well as learning how to pronounce the right pitch in the Japanese language. Many of the lectures on these classes consisted of comparing and analyzing the differences between Japanese and English (JAPN 300, 302, 402). I learned quite bit in these class by writing and preparing slides for presentation, which helped me to know how to present in Japanese language using power Point.
