WLC 420 - Maximizing Study Abroad Experiences
Your study abroad experience is potentially a rich opportunity for you to enhance your language skills and deepen your understanding of other cultures, people and their practices. This course provides the resources to help you prepare for your study abroad experiences.
I this MLO, I learned about LESCANT which the acronym stands for Language, Environment, Social Organization, Context,Authority, Non-Verbal, and Time. The idea is to give students experience in identifying cultural differences, taking a picture and categorize them with the topics above. I thought that was a good practice for students who were going to study abroad (Japan). Since I lived for few years in Japan, I did not go to Japan, instead I worked in the Pathway 2 with a partner, which we read and analyze the book "Ama" by Takeo Doy, and interviewed few people as I attached the evidence below.
