Moreover, we learned about haiku and poems, which improved the reading comprehension and analytical thinking that we had to write for ourselves. For what we learned in class, we had many assignments such as reflection essays, and for each text we read, also we had a kanji quiz related to the article. In the section of poetry, we were required to write our own haiku and poems related to the first love or some season, draw a picture related to the store and wrote a picture book of 手袋を買いに (buying mittens). I wrote a paper on 小さな闇 (A Small Darkness) and my final paper and presentation was ごん狐 (Gon, the little fox), which is a children’s book.
Through this course, I learned about different writers and their work styles which I thought was very interesting.
