Narrative:
WLC Major ProSeminar contributed to fulfill MLO4 – Research and Technology. In this class, we had students from Japanese and Spanish majors as well as teachers from different languages and guest speakers who gave us instructions to prepare for graduation. In this class, we learned about the Major Learning Outcomes and the level of language proficiency that was required to attain a Japanese major according to the ACTFL Guidelines. In addition, we learned how to create resumes, write personal statements and they taught us about the graduation portfolio, as well the weebly website, which we used to build this e-portfolio. Taking this class, I learned to create a website where I could exhibit my courses as well my work as evidence at CSUMB. I was unware about the use of google docs before taking this class, and they helped teach me how to use google drive, that is essential for university students, so I could work on the group’s projects I had to do for other classes. Also, we went to the library and have an instruction about the use of the tools in the library page, as well as how to make it easier to do some kinds of research and how to cite and print the sources. One of the classes, we learned the difference between scholar and research, which I thought was interesting. In short, this class was very helpful for learning about technology and research, which I will be using next semester for the Capstone project.
